Customized Structures Offers Building Trades Training Program 

Claremont, NH- Customized Structures, Inc. is proud to announce the offering of a building trades training program for the Claremont community at large.  The program, Introductory to Craft Skills Training Program is a certificate program offered in conjunction with the New Hampshire Community Technical College in Claremont.  This program is certified by the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and affiliated with the state through the Associated Builders & Contractors of NH/VT (ABC).

The Introductory to Crafts Skills Training Program is a series of modules that are designed to teach entry-level skills in the construction industry.  The curriculum was developed by the Contren Learning Series in partnership with NCCER.  Upon completion of the training, candidates will be tested on their competency in each module and, if successful, will be issued a nationally recognized certificate from NCCER.  Graduates will be able to continue their training and earn certificates in advanced skills through other training providers and companies. 

Customized Structures became involved in this program after being approached by the state of New Hampshire to see what their interest level was.  CSI jumped at the opportunity to offer a program to the community that can expand interest in the construction trades.  Students can apply to the Introductory Craft Skills Training Program through NHCTC in Claremont and training classes are held at the CSI facility on River Road in Claremont.  In addition, Customized Structures offers the use of many of the power tools used during classes, has a certified trainer on site and the facility to apply the hands on knowledge and action in an actual construction environment.  The NCCER certified trainer is Bob Donth who has been an employee of Customized Structures since 1991.  In addition to serving as the trainer for the Introductory Craft Skills Training Program Bob is also the Cut Shop Supervisor, managing all aspects of pre-cutting lumber for use in modules.  Bob has tremendous experience in the construction manufacturing industry as well as in reading blueprints and in teaching.  His knowledge, patience and work ethic make him an excellent instructor and a valuable asset to the program.

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a not-for-profit education foundation founded in 1995.  NCCER was created to help address the severe workforce shortage facing the construction industry and to develop standardized construction, maintenance and pipeline curricula.  NCCER is an affiliate organization with the University of Florida M.E. Rinver, Sr. School of Building Construction.
